Our Responsibilities Safeguarding winning tickets

Lotteries exist to fund good causes and create winners – so we are keen to make sure that the prizes we pay out go into the right hands.

This year, we began a campaign to remind players of the benefits of signing their tickets – so that they are sure to be able to ‘keep it theirs’ if they become a winner.

Consumer research before and after the campaign told us that this message resonated positively with players. We will continue to encourage players to keep their tickets safe. 

We are also keeping up our work on improvements in our technology and data monitoring to protect both retailers and players from errors, misunderstandings, and malpractice. We have improved our data monitoring to detect unusual transaction patterns, and we are working on a programme to eliminate errors in processing payments.
