Our Responsibilities Values and behaviour

A business which exists to raise funds for good causes has to be responsible – the revenue of vital charitable projects at stake.

As the operator of The National Lottery, we have additional responsibilities – to maintain the highest levels of protection for our players, and to safeguard and uphold the good reputation of the Lottery itself.

We have a set of values which we believe make us 'FITTER' to meet these responsibilities, and what they mean in terms of the behaviour we expect of our employees.

The Camelot values

• We believe in Fair play for our people
• We behave with Integrity
• We work together as a Team
• We can be Trusted to deliver on our commitments
• We strive for Excellence in everything we do
• We discharge our Responsibilities to all our stakeholders

How we behave
We put our values into practice in six ways:
• Creativity: we are imaginative, forward thinking and innovative in the way we approach our work
• Empowerment: we create a culture which encourages individualism and independence.
• Ownership: we understand the vision and goals of Camelot and recognise the part we all have to play in achieving them
• Partnership: we work with each other, our customers and all of our stakeholders to maximise returns to good causes in a socially responsible way
• Passion: we show that we care for the company and its aims
• Accountability: we are efficient, cost-conscious and clear about the consequences of our actions.
