Our Responsibilities Paper
The use of paper is one of our most significant direct environmental impacts, and this year we reduced total paper consumption by 196 tonnes, or 5%.
By far the greatest proportion of the paper we use goes into our products. This year we reduced total paper consumption from products (ticket rolls, playslips and scratchcards) by 4%.
We are continuing to look for ways to minimise the impact of our paper usage, and to reduce waste. For example, over the last two years we have been working with our scratchcard supplier to increase sales forecast accuracy and develop a rapid re-order process, to reduce the amount of written-off stock from discontinued games. We are continuing to look at viable options for recycling this waste stream.
The table below measures our paper consumption over the last year.
