Our Responsibilities Financial performance
This year's performance confirms our belief that a strategy of long-term, responsible growth produces results.
We achieved record ticket sales for the 2010/11 financial year, and grew total National Lottery sales across all channels to an all-time high of £5,822.4m, an increase of £370.6m (6.8%) on the previous year.
At a time when sales are static or in decline for most lotteries across the world, we broke our previous sales record of £5,513.7m set in 1997/98. National Lottery sales have increased by 20.4% since the start of the second lottery licence in 2002 – and the number of players has risen by more than 5% in the last five years.
