Camelot is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its operations and products. We believe it is vital for us to reduce our environmental footprint so the environmental benefits to society brought about by our operations are not compromised by the process of raising that money.

We aim to use our resources efficiently, cut waste and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Our aim is to cut carbon dioxide emissions by controlling energy use in our buildings, transporting products efficiently, and carrying out other business travel in a responsible way.

Inevitably paper use is one of the most significant environmental impacts we encounter, as buying paper tickets and Scratchcards is still the most popular way to play The National Lottery.

Our main focus is to reduce the amount of paper we use in our products, though all our tickets, play slips and Scratchcards are printed on 100% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper.

Internally, one of the ways we have addressed paper waste is by using multi-functional printers and photocopiers that print double-sided and black and white by default and operate a ‘follow me’ printing system, reducing forgotten printouts.

We encourage employees to take direct action by using equipment and resources responsibly, while also developing a companywide strategy to improve efficiency.

We continually work with suppliers to improve the way their own operations affect the environment.
