We are life changing. We make around 30 millionaires a month AND raise an average of £30M to good causes every single week. We want our people to live our life changing purpose and we help with this by giving every employee two volunteer days per year plus we also offer match funding for any fundraising activities.
The Retail Sales team have so many fantastic examples of rolling up their sleeves and giving back. From spending time helping Lottery Funded projects such as Thwaite Mills in Leeds to tidying up a conservation park in Norfolk and volunteering with Autism UK as well as taking part in some fantastic fundraising programmes.
Meet Darren and Shannon who are part of the Midlands region. Here is their story.
Shannon recently arranged for her team to spend a day volunteering at the Cambridge Museum of Technology. The museum's focus is to preserve the industrial heritage of Cambridge (a very popular and beautiful city) as well as exhibiting it's working engines, telephone exchanges, print presses and many more wonderful contraptions. They have also received over £1.5M of National Lottery funding.
During the day of volunteering the team helped with a number of tasks which varied from dusting down machinery and various intriguing objects to clerical duties such as data entry.
Being able to see the museum and meeting the people that keep it going helped to embed how amazing The National Lottery is. It gave the team a sense of the impact of their work and how it can change people’s lives every day. For the sales team this means that every ticket they help our retailers sell makes a real difference.
