Digital Strategy & Trading

Hello, we are the strategy and trading team for the Digital channel. Our business unit is responsible for developing the strategic plans for Digital, setting departmental targets, marketing and channel performance reviews. We also look after trading and merchandising for both website and mobile app as well as business cases for new initiatives. These are to help meet The National Lottery growth objectives through delivering a better play experience and having the right products, campaigns and strategies for our individual player segments.

Acquisition & Retention

We are responsible for acquiring new digital players and maintaining our relationship with them. We do this by utilising all digital touch points such as paid media, email, and notifications on website and mobile.
We communicate game news, jackpots, winners and Good Cause stories to our players, always keeping them at the heart of everything we do. This involves creating engaging communications and talking to the right players, at the right time, via the right communication channel, with the right message for them.

Digital Planning & Design

 We’re made up of 3 areas – all of which are aligned to the core principle of developing and enhancing our players’ digital experience.

1.    Digital Product – focused purely on evolving our website and app with ever-improving functionality.
2.    Digital UX and Design – using design to map out and enhance the digital experience and navigation of players’ journeys.
3.    CRM Strategy & Planning – seeks to ensure we engage individual players with the best possible messages, wherever they touch our digital channels.

Digital Operations

As the Digital Operations team (Digital Ops for short), we are the engine room of the Digital department. Made up of gurus in our fields and technical experts and advocates, we get stuff done and we do it well. From website, app content and functionality, to player communications and programming. We are crucial to their delivery, quality, accuracy and integrity - something we're pretty proud of!

Projects & Service Delivery

We’re the team that makes sure stuff gets done! We ensure the team are enabled to deliver the web and mobile development roadmap on time and within budget. To get things done we work with many different people across the business. This includes overseeing the digital team’s delivery of all product requirements for continuous improvement across mobile and web and live product features. We’re the first point of escalation for new projects. This includes game changes, ensuring the delivery of the go to market and digital product requirements across web and mobile.
