It has been a uniquely challenging year for The National Lottery and for Camelot. Alongside our work of selling lottery tickets in a responsible way we have also started our transition to the next lottery Licence, which commences in February 2009.
Despite the added pressures, we succeeded in growing National Lottery sales and returns to Good Causes have passed the £21 billion mark. Projects up and down the UK have benefited and we continue to be ahead of target in raising funds for London 2012. Sustaining this growth through the new Licence period is a challenge which we aim to meet responsibly.
