About Camelot

Our overall business objective is to develop and run lottery games to raise money for Good Causes, in the most efficient and socially responsible way.

Camelot & The National Lottery

The way we run The National Lottery is strictly regulated, with every area of our operations bound by guidelines set down by law, the Government and our regulator.

Defining our priorites

We have prioritised five areas of corporate responsibility - of these, the most important issue for us as a lottery operator is protecting players and promoting responsible play.

Like all companies that are serious about behaving responsibly, we are constantly on the look out for ways to improve our performance and management systems.

We want Camelot to be a well-run and responsible company. We work hard to make sure corporate responsibility is ingrained in the organisation and that we have the right mechanisms to control the risks we face as a business. Everyone who works for Camelot has a part to play in protecting our reputation and the good standing of The National Lottery.

This section of the report describes how we manage corporate responsibility and how we set out to achieve our four key corporate responsibility (CR) priorities, which form the main chapter headings of this report. They are Responsible play, Our people and communities, Business relationships, and Environmental impact. It also describes our business, the way the lottery is run and how we relate to the Government, our regulator and the lottery distribution bodies.

Our commitment is to raise as much money as we can for Good Causes. We're not responsible for distributing the money we raise, but we work closely with the 14 National Lottery Distribution Bodies (NLDBs), which decide where funds will be allocated. Read more about Good Causes.
