Using this report

This report is designed to give you a detailed view of how Camelot manages its business responsibly. We have structured it so that it's easy for you to get a complete overview of our performance in 2005/06.

You can either follow the report through from start to finish, or you can use the navigation bar to the left to choose areas of particular interest to you. To highlight the areas we treat as priorities we have included them as five separate sections on this site. They are Responsible growth, Good Causes, Our people & communities, Business partnerships and Environmental impact.

Section by section

Overview includes our Chief Executive’s review of the year, and a look at our main achievements and challenges.

Camelot & responsibility outlines how we manage our business responsibly, how we build it into our business and how we have developed our practices over the past year.

Stakeholder engagement describes all the ways in which we engage with people who have a stake in our business, including our employees, retailers, suppliers, shareholders and players, and how these consultations feed into our decision–making and ultimately affect the way we operate.

Responsible growth tells you about the new games and new ways to play we are introducing to encourage more people to take part in the lottery, spending small amounts of money. It also describes what we do to prevent underage play and problem play.

Good Causes describes our success in raising money for lottery–funded projects, not least the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in London, and how that money is allocated.

Our people & communities deals with what it's like to work at Camelot, and the unique challenges we face in trying to create a stimulating and rewarding work environment for our employees. It also describes how we are contributing to the communities we are involved in by donating money, mainly through the independent Camelot Foundation, and the time and skills of our employees.

Business partnerships talks about the way we try to create value for three very important groups – retailers, suppliers and our shareholders – and always aim to treat them fairly.

Environmental impact discusses our efforts to cut pollution and waste, including printing lottery tickets on recycled paper and our plans to turn Camelot into a carbon–neutral company.

Performance overview tracks our progress against indicators, targets and the commitments we made last year. This section also sets out our goals for the year ahead and includes the Assurance Statement by The ReAssurance Network and our response to it.

We have incorporated several features to aid access see Accessibility.
