main content

We continue to return a higher proportion of lottery money to society than any other major lottery in the world. We are currently raising money for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in London. We are also working with the National Lottery Promotions Unit to publicise Good Causes because we know players and retailers want more information on where lottery funding goes, and the benefits to society it creates.

The role we play in raising money for Good Causes is sometimes misunderstood. Our job, as set out in our licence, is to raise as much as possible for Good Causes by running a successful, efficient and socially responsible National Lottery. We play no part in allocating lottery funding to projects. But we have, after listening to our players, elected to play a role in raising awareness of the great things that are being achieved, nationwide, with lottery money.
